Texas 1

Hey Gang,

I am in Texas with Walt's family on a 5 day escape. The trip is a graduation present for Walt's son Jimmy. Jimmy graduated from the 8th grade on the honor roll and received a scholarship. For a present Jimmy picked where he wanted to go.

I was a little apprehensive about leaving because of how busy I am but I couldn't disappoint .Jimmy really wanted me to come along plus all the planning Walt put into the trip' I couldn't say no.

The flight to Huston… Continue

Wanna have more fun than anyone?

We are Sisters on the Fly.  Perhaps you've heard of us?  We are a group of women from across

the country that have at least one thing in common...adventure!.

We fly fish, we camp,  we ride horses,  and attend cowgirl college.  We share recipes and

heartaches. We go antiquing and a little 'junk-tiquing'.  We search out old trailers and turn them into

fancy hotels on wheels.   We chat, we laugh, cry and support one another and best of all…

Meet Chuck

Hey Gang,

You haven't received one of these emails in a long time.

Today I went to Dollar Tree to pick up a card for dad. I hurried to the door but noticed behind me an older gentleman with a cane walking slowly. I waited the extra 10 seconds and held the door for him. I am glad I slowed down. All it took was for me to hold the door open to make a new friend.

He blessed me and said have a great day. I said well you to. He responded let me give you a great tip, I… Continue

Southern Indiana Vintage Camper Rally Was a Hoot

Hello....we just returned from our 4 day Southern Indiana Vintage Camper Rally at FOWLER PARK & PIONEER VILLAGE.  What a HOOT we had this year!   This was our 3rd year for this event, and the 1st time at Fowler Park & Lake...it WON'T be our last!  We had over 150 campers in attendance, 53 vintage trailers and many well behaved children and pets.  It started off hot and muggy, but by Sunday the temperatures were getting pretty comfortable.  We had a very well attended HUGE "Show &…

Refurb Complete!

It took a year but the camper is finally in ship shape! Re-done underside, new braking system, paint, new tires, re-furbed interrior, new electricals, gas........etc!!! It was well worth the time, energy and money spent. We have brought this old girl sitting out in a field back to life. We are gearing up for its maiden voyage in 2 weeks. Although we have just hung out in it in the driveway a few times. You forget where you are when you are in a vintaged camper, especially when its… Continue

Bought a Diamond-in-the-Rough!

Hi!  We just bought our first motorhome.  We had a couple of slide-ins (still have the big S & S, plus truck, that we're hoping to replace) and a parade of used 5th wheels, before buying new in '04.  (We live fulltime in it--the MH is our escape vehicle!)  We've had to fix more stuff on the 'new' one than we ever did on any of the used ones!  Go…

My new restoration project

Hi everyone, I am in Rhode Island.  I love the outdoors and I have never restored a trailer before.  Right now, between getting my garden going and housework (very little of that LOL) I have been restoring vintage sewing machines. Yes, that is quite a jump, but I have been following blogs and websites on vintage trailers and one day I saw a fixer-uper on Craig's list and had to have her.…

newbie-68 Holiday Vacationer Info Wanted

Hey all I'm a newbie, just got a great little travel trailer(photos to come) anyone has any info on a 1968 Holiday Vacationer? Really looking for a manual. I understand Holiday was bought out in the late 90's and that company has no records of models previous. Mines in great shape needs little service work. Any suggestions welcome.

OKLAHOMA: Cedar Lake Recreation Area

Because of the many miles of nearby hiking trails, the sheer beauty of the Ouachita Mountains, the relative proximity to my home, the rich local history, and the fact that noisy boats are severely restricted on the lake, this park and the surrounding Ouachita National Forest have been my lifelong-favorite destination for recreation and relaxation.

Cedar Lake…

Advice on painting the outside of my vintage trailer

Hi we just got a 1968 Woodsman travel trailer. I would love some advice on how to paint the outside. Some things I read say to use thinned out oil paint, And then cover with latex. Is this good advice?

Restoration in progress

We bought a 1968 Roadrunner in Jan and have been working on it, a little piece at a time since then. Now it's time to really deconstruct the body of the RV. The roof and front skins are off. We are about the trace the arcs and angles of the outside of the camper and remove the side panels. The rest of the deconstruction should be easy. Of course the rebuild, that's another story.

I have before and during pictures to upload when I can.
