........the rear end on this is now worthy of a wolf whistle!
All of the rotted wood has been ripped out and replaced with new lumber. I had to build frames on the inside walls for the tail lights, the screws for those were just hanging in there on the metal and anchored to nothing but that. The original wood pieces had long since crumbled away. They are now secure and the wiring for them has been organized and clipped for easy access from the outside if needed.
Here's…

.....not describing the walls/ceilings/floors, and frames of your camper!
I'm at the other corner now, on the drivers side. Would you believe I still pulled out..or rather crumbled out wet 2x2's today?? It's hard to see, but I am now replacing the 2x2 supports on that side. I already have one running the full length of the back and that went into there in one piece. Wasn't easy, but I did not want to have to cut it in half. I wanted a secure support along that back…

First off, she's very hard to see...but I have a Mommy White tail out here every morning with her tiny babe across the pond. It's so cute to watch while it goes jumping in and out of the water and playing: (I swear, Mommy can spot me before I even get the door open to get a picture. LOL)
Last year I had a doe here that clearly had just given birth, and apparently…

I had mentioned last week I had to make a bonzai run from Texas to Michigan to take care of a few issues. Most of the trip went well till I was just south of Effinghan ill. Hitting a chunk hole cut out of the highway about 4 ft wide and the width of the land and about a ft deep.. front rims get bent along with blowing out both rear tires and screetching to a stop on the shoulder of the road,, along with several other cars and trucks. Apparently the state doesnt think its nessasary to put up…

"Woo Hoooo!! Yeah, Man! whistle!..."
{{audience applauds and cheers}}
Yeah, I took the shelf/floor out of the closet. That was a most difficult task, I think the only way that could have been installed was by children who could crawl into a crowded 15" space. There are laws against child labor! And, of course, the very last screw in the very back where I had to contort myself and hold my breath to reach...was stripped. Sliced my elbow, (this is where the swearing commenced) but…

......COYOTE UGLY!
It wasn't bad enough that the bathroom toilet had not been "cleaned" before getting stored in the woods and weather, but I discovered the other day that the dark water had not been drained. That had sat in there for a minimum of three years, and I'm thinking closer to 5. I dealt with that.
Today, I took on trying to get some support under the shower floor so I could repair the crack. There is no support under the center of that unit. When…

I have spent so much time on the cab over area, I lost track. Literally full days. LOL
One of my problems on that was the floor of the cab over. It is very thick plywood, probably 1 1/2"...not sure. It is screwed into the bottom from underneath and I had no way of getting to the screws to remove that whole floor without tearing apart things in the truck area that I had no intention of doing.
So I opted to cut out the areas that were severely water damaged. Each…
ContinueI was reading about LED conversions,,, and by golly, In the chat box this a/m Jack and Russ was talking about some issues. SMTA.
LED seems the way to go as the standard incondecent light seems to be fading away like the old 8 track players. Several articles bring up a resistance issue,, LED's having less resistance then the old single and double filament bulbs. Some companies sell a top dollar *fix all for this problem, Its a fancy square box that really doesnt fit anywhere easily,…

Looking back over the years,, things that go bump in the night, little boo, boo's during vacations,, things like that,, always have a humor coated side. The little things that ,,at the time make you scream words that would make a sailor blush, and at the same time give you opportunity to make up new cuss words. Sometimes the show of anger makes the neighbors close their windows and lock their doors and cower down in the basement,, thinking armageddon has arrived. That point you blow the…

So your on your way,,,, what do you mean you don't know where your going? Didnt you put together a minute by minute travel agenda? The shame. Everyone (as infomercials say) know,,you must have a minute by minute agenda while on vacation, Time it down to the exact minute when you pull out the drive and how long it will take you to arrive at the first stop sign and 1st exit for gas etc. Allot a certain amount of time to use restroom facilities, etc. Keep a stop watch on the dash to monitor…

Different laws and regulations vary from state to state, and can get quite confusing.Politics with transportation at its best. Examples as follows are just a small taste of what I have encountered. In lower Michigan, traveling through Berrien county, (St,Joseph / Benton Harbor), on I-94, (corridor from Chicago to Detroit), Your allowed to pull doubles and triple with a special use permit. And daylight driving hours only. But a few miles up the road on the same hwy,I-94 you enter Kalamazoo…

I think I finally have the corners of the cab over almost done. This has been a pain in the royal arse for sure. No fun.....but I'm nearing the end.
Dad called me at 7:00 a.m. and said "you gotta see what I got". So, I drove over there late morning and find that he has another travel trailer to restore. I just knew it before I even got there. I knew the bug would hit him when I started mine. ;-)
It's a 1977 Layton. Tires are in great shape, and for as old as…

I am so ecstatic to report that I picked up Juno from the mechanic's last Thursday and she and I had our virgin trip together. It was definitely a happy honeymoon. Do you know I signed the papers on her in October and this was the first time I actually was behind the wheel on the road??! Rick didn't get her here until January and then she sat in the yard until I could get the roof sealed, and finally the mechanic took pity on me and came and got her because of the stall on idle issue. I…

Got up early,, walked to the kitchen like someone coming off a 14 day binge drinking fest, walking bow legged and pigion toed, eyes crossed and blood shot. Fumbled with the coffee maker, and after several attempts get the paper filters seperated and one dropped in the basket, I fumble with the coffee can and manage to get a couple scoops out with out spilling it all over the counter, and get the basket inserted in the coffee maker slots and I pour the water in, flip the switch and wait,,,and…

Today was set aside for Diggity Dodge day. Yesterday I did a little cutting and fitting of some final roof support pieces....that's about it. The rest of the day was targeted for fixing a truck headlight wiring issue, and cleaning junk out of the basement to get ready for hauling away. Then some house cleaning.
First off today, I repaired the corner mold and hole on the outside. I cut the corner piece of the molding off so it would sit flat and not be stopped by that screw…
