Alright, well now that I have roof that will not collapse under my weight…(I hope)…I have started the install of the new roof vents.

This is a fairly minor project, but I was happy to be able to get the roof sealed from all of the known leaks!

The biggest time saver I can recommend after doing several jobs now where I had to get to clean metal to ensure adhesion…it use a wire brush on a drill attachment (or something similar), this ended up being the fastest…

my letter to the garage your thought?

Joe,

This letter concerns my 1969 Dodge A100 Xplorer also known as the Go-Go Bus.

I am very shocked and dismayed with the treatment of my vehicle that was left in your care. It is a show vehicle meaning I attend shows with it and it is the basis…

Ok, so next step in the roof ceiling repair…. I wanted to install the panel into the ceiling.   I had been happy with the Epoxy resin I used to assemble the panel so I wanted to try using this same method to attach the panel onto the aluminum skin.

First I cleaned up the underside of the aluminum roof:

1980 Dodge sportsman Motor Home

We just looked at an interesting Motor Home. Looks like it will run out good and interior is very usable and price is excellent ($500) . But, the tires are very old and it hasn't been run long time for about 10 yrs.

I suspect it will need 6 new tires and wheels probably. 8.00 x 16 LTS . Does anyone know what would be the best tire / wheel combo? And, maybe best cost?

Thanks,

Paul

Rescue

Yesterday I rescued a 1953 Kencraft Travel Trailer!

It's a disaster - with great bones/structure.

Kinda wish I knew more about this rig.

~~~~
Okay so now that I have been poking around in my project I have a better idea what needs to happen. I will need to rebuild the entire back wall, repair the actual wheel well on the drivers side, three roof panels need replacing, front wall is pretty dry rotted, six windows do not even fit the frame work, the fiberglass roof is… Continue
Hello again,
Slight change of direction over the weekend, I have been looking for a replacement A/C unit for the Minnie-Webbie to upgrade the broken, dirty old swamp cooler that was currently installed on the RV.
Well I happened to find a A/C unit advertised on craigslist on Friday, very near my house.  So, I went and checked it out, it looked and tested fine (owner had it set-up and working in his garage).
Long story short, I bought…
So, I have started with the repairs on the wall/roof area…
I debated on several different repair techniques before starting but I ended up deciding to cut out the bad area and install wood for reinforcement rather than duplicating the standard construction techniques.
Since I did not have a way to screw in the 2X4 from the outside I decided on good old liquid nails to hold the wood in place against the outer skin.
The roof/trim securing…
1976 Okanagan
Work is progressing. I have repaired and or replaced water damaged structure and installed a salvaged window. lined the rather gross cupboards and cubby holes with light laminate. Still lots to do but the work is therapeutic. (Never thought I would say that :)
Ethanol Crud
I spoke with a guy from a fuel injector company that flow tests and cleans fuel injectors. He has a friend that rebuilds and repairs small engines in the Northeast. All the lawn mowers and snow plows that sit  during the off season he gets to rebuild the carburetor's on. He does not even look anymore for a cause, he just takes the carbs off and start to clean this white gunk out that sticks to everything. Puts the carb back on and they start right up. He basically stated the same thing that…
Non Ethanol Gas for RV storage
Non Ethanol Gasoline For RV Storage.
I been told to run the regular gas out and fill up with Non ethanol gasoline and get that in the fuel system before long periods of storage of 3 to 6 months. Marina's only sell non ethanol gas for good reason as I am learning.
surging voltage
Our 1969 dodge travco 22 footer with the 318 semi hemi is doing a rythmic power surge. Does it at idle and under power. The lites dim and brighten with it. I've put a new voltage regulator on and checked all connections, especially grounds. Rig is all original with the ballast resistor and original distributor.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Oh and I've tried a hammer already.ha
Motorhome engine and generator not starting nothing, no headlights either
I suddenly have a no starting seeming dead battery situation. The engine, 454 and the generator have no starting power. The battery is fully charged. I also have no headlights or other exterior lights. As if the battery is disconnected. Here is what I noticed two days ago. I have a wire under the dash that has been tapped into. When I bumped against this wire, I could here something in the inverter panel click. As if a solenoid was clicking. I pulled the electrical tape off the wire and saw…
Puzzled by new findings.
So I have spent the entire day shop vac out the trailer whom I call sunshine (yellow stove, fridge, bathroom). As I twisted and wiggled into ever corner or spot where dirt may be, I found some things I am not sure about.
1. Furnace. Opened furnace up like a fridge, couldn't figure out how to get door off yet. Dirt, plastic bags, metal tags for furnance, and dirt hanging everywhere. All looks connected, intact. There is a screen under pilot light knob?? Goes outside. I think for… Continue
What we have done so far on Fort Courage
Bought 1984 Lazy Daze Class C 22' motorhome January 2015 for $3000.  Had mechanic check out, driveable, good hoses, engine, will need new tires next winter, A/C in cab not working, other than that it's sound and drives good. :)  Crap for mileage, like 7 mpg. lol Pretty high mileage, but all ours. :)
Camper part is ROUGH. Good bones, last previous owners did no maintenance on coach.
New center vent in lounge, new tiolet and floor in…
HOWDY from MONTANA!!!
I am looking around for a used RV that I can hopefully get running and use by August. I have experience with RV's but, I have a hard time remembering things ever since surgeries. And anyhow, never hurts to see what others think.
I need to start looking through all the stuff here and see what's…
