Ok, this one is probably an obvious one. I need new rear anti sway bar bushings. I am writing this one in hopes of helping others by bringing attention to all of you to check your rear sway bar. front one too. I will give credit here to my friend Greg Blue. Fireman and Airstream expert from southern Florida.
I noticed my Airstream Argosy motor coach seems to sway to much in the butt. Side to side sway as in a top heavy feel. I just installed new Air springs in the front and…

I had an odd incident last night. I pulled my 1977 Airstream Argosy 454 / 496 GM powered coach out of storage. I ran it about 10 minutes before leaving and then drove about 25 miles and stopped for gas. I pumped about 22 gallons of regular gas into it. It sat maybe 20 more minutes running while I pumped the gas. Then, right after I pulled out, the motor shut down. I got it to restart and then as soon as I got through the intersection it shut down again. I could hit the key and it would…

With the recent article and attention to the *SCUM BAG, who takes, hard working folk's money to repair, restore, upgrade etc and then not do the work,, We all have to get our radars up in full attention mode.
As with ANY type of work, whether it be your home or RV, Check and double check there credentials and Local Reputation.
Now don't get me wrong,, there are some down home good ole fashioned folks who enjoy doing this stuff in their retirement years to keep them busy and to…

The problem with doing restoration work when u don't have a garage for it is keeping things dry. After two months of putting tarps on and off I fond a great deal on a 10x20 canopy with a 9'6" peak. Three storms later all is well (and dry)

Alright, well now that I have roof that will not collapse under my weight…(I hope)…I have started the install of the new roof vents.
This is a fairly minor project, but I was happy to be able to get the roof sealed from all of the known leaks!
The biggest time saver I can recommend after doing several jobs now where I had to get to clean metal to ensure adhesion…it use a wire brush on a drill attachment (or something similar), this ended up being the fastest…

Joe,
This letter concerns my 1969 Dodge A100 Xplorer also known as the Go-Go Bus.
I am very shocked and dismayed with the treatment of my vehicle that was left in your care. It is a show vehicle meaning I attend shows with it and it is the basis…

Ok, so next step in the roof ceiling repair…. I wanted to install the panel into the ceiling. I had been happy with the Epoxy resin I used to assemble the panel so I wanted to try using this same method to attach the panel onto the aluminum skin.
First I cleaned up the underside of the aluminum roof:
Pre:

We just looked at an interesting Motor Home. Looks like it will run out good and interior is very usable and price is excellent ($500) . But, the tires are very old and it hasn't been run long time for about 10 yrs.
I suspect it will need 6 new tires and wheels probably. 8.00 x 16 LTS . Does anyone know what would be the best tire / wheel combo? And, maybe best cost?
Thanks,
Paul

Hello again,
Slight change of direction over the weekend, I have been looking for a replacement A/C unit for the Minnie-Webbie to upgrade the broken, dirty old swamp cooler that was currently installed on the RV.
Well I happened to find a A/C unit advertised on craigslist on Friday, very near my house. So, I went and checked it out, it looked and tested fine (owner had it set-up and working in his garage).
Long story short, I bought…

So, I have started with the repairs on the wall/roof area…
I debated on several different repair techniques before starting but I ended up deciding to cut out the bad area and install wood for reinforcement rather than duplicating the standard construction techniques.
Since I did not have a way to screw in the 2X4 from the outside I decided on good old liquid nails to hold the wood in place against the outer skin.
The roof/trim securing…

Work is progressing. I have repaired and or replaced water damaged structure and installed a salvaged window. lined the rather gross cupboards and cubby holes with light laminate. Still lots to do but the work is therapeutic. (Never thought I would say that :)

I spoke with a guy from a fuel injector company that flow tests and cleans fuel injectors. He has a friend that rebuilds and repairs small engines in the Northeast. All the lawn mowers and snow plows that sit during the off season he gets to rebuild the carburetor's on. He does not even look anymore for a cause, he just takes the carbs off and start to clean this white gunk out that sticks to everything. Puts the carb back on and they start right up. He basically stated the same thing that…

Non Ethanol Gasoline For RV Storage.
I been told to run the regular gas out and fill up with Non ethanol gasoline and get that in the fuel system before long periods of storage of 3 to 6 months. Marina's only sell non ethanol gas for good reason as I am learning.
